From January 2015, the Dartford to Victoria service through Nunhead, Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill is a 7 full days a week two trains an hour service. This has been achieved by extending the service in the renewed contract for Southeastern rail services. Because of the disruption to rail services up to 2018 by Thameslink works at London Bridge, this Southeastern franchise has been extended from 2014 to 2018. We must make sure that the new contracts after 2018 keep this extended Dartford - Victoria service, and continue the campaign for a new Victoria service to Bromley/Bellingham. Achieving this would give us a train every 15 minutes to Victoria.
BACKGROUND
The ending of the South London Line (SLL) in December 2012 left big gaps in services to Victoria – no trains in the evenings or on Sundays, and fewer trains during the day and in peak hours. We need to keep on the public agenda the need for these service gaps to be filled. We suggest that a good way to start that is for users to take careful note of the journeys they now have to make because of the loss of the South London Line links to Victoria and London Bridge. Then to write them up to send to the decision makers and their elected representatives and the local media. The email addresses to send your views to are listed below. Possibilities to fill some of the gaps were identified in 2010 in a TfL & LTW study of the SLL service (option 7 in the report). These changes involve timetable adjustments and extension of existing train services from Kent. The decision to enable these to happen was with the Minister for Transport and the London Mayor jointly. They needed to know how important this is to South London, and the campaign to save our Victoria Services was successful in getting this message across because so many local rail users emailed them. But a dispute between the Minister and the London Mayor over who was responsible for funding the changes meant that no action was taken in time to prevent the gaps from appearing once the South London Line ended on 8th December 2012.

What is needed: at least 2tph (preferably 4tph) from Nunhead, Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill, Clapham High St, Wandsworth Rd to and from Victoria throughout the day and late evening, 7 days a week. This would fill the gaps left in the evenings and on Sundays by the 2tph service from Dartford which runs only in day time (to 7pm) and Saturdays.
The campaign to restore a full 7 days a week, morning till night, 4tph service to and from Victoria will continue. This page is being updated for that continuing campaign.
Found in the Archives of February 2012 - this letter from London Mayor Boris Johnson supporting the SRUG claim to regain a full 7 day & evening service to Victoria. Now we have lost the full week service of two tph from London Bridge to Victoria, with the demise of the South London Line in December 2012, we need to remind him and TfL of this, and ask what they will do to make it happen.
