Future of London Bridge Station exhibition & public meeting
London Bridge station will be rebuilt between 2012 and 2019. This is a major redevelopment in our part of London which will have a big effect on the area around London Bridge affecting rail users, bus users, local Bermondsey residents and anyone travelling through or visiting that area. Next week there is a Network Rail exhibition at the station with rail people there to answer questions.
The exhibition will be a very good way for local rail users to see in detail why Network Rail say the South London Line (SLL) has to be cut at the end of 2012. If you are concerned about the effects of this, make sure you go and make your points there to them so in their reports they can mention how many people raised the SLL issue.
There is also a local Bermondsey evening public meeting, which will also be of interest to any users of the London Bridge area. See all details below.

Network Rail have now announced details of their comprehensive re-working of London Bridge Station. This is by far the most significant development on the agenda for the area. It has implications for the character of the Bermondsey Village area that are more far-reaching even than those of the Shard. They include important traffic management and heritage issues that will have a profound effect on the character of Tooley St, St Thomas St and a large area south of St Thomas St, including the Bermondsey Street Conservation area.
