London Bridge redevelopment: timeline up to 2018

A summary of the works, timeline and outcome of the redevelopment of London Bridge station is here.  A major impact on services from SRUG stations is that there will be no services from London Bridge to Waterloo East and Charing Cross in 2015 to 2017.

The planned timeline for the rebuilding of London Bridge station is:
1. Summer 2011 - Planning application submitted
2. Autumn 2011 - Decision on planning application from London Borough of Southwark anticipated
3. Winter 2011 - Major construction on bus station gets underway
4. Spring 2012 - Initial work on redevelopment of station expected to get underway
5. Summer 2012 - New station concourse (part of The Shard development) and new bus station complete
6. Summer 2013 - Complete redevelopment of London Bridge station begins
7. Spring 2014 - First new platform opens
   2015/6 Charing Cross services will not stop at London Bridge
   2016/7 Cannon Street services will not stop at London Bridge

8. Summer 2018 - Station complete, full Thameslink services running
