SRUG covers Southwark borough stations and train services. Our focus is mainly on the area covered by the stations Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, North Dulwich, East Dulwich, Queens Road Peckham, Nunhead. They all have in common that all the services for all these stations go through Peckham Rye station.

East London Line (ELL) link to Peckham & Denmark Hill takes shape

Work is proceeding well to build the short stretch of new line to connect the ELL (East London Line) from Surrey Quays to the line that will run to Clapham Junction via Queens Rd Peckham, Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill, Clapham High St, Wandsworth Rd. Foundations are also being laid in the work for a new Surrey Canal Rd Station to be built later. Improvements by Southern to Peckham Rye station platforms

This email is to give you some information about Southern Rail's proposals to improve the passenger waiting facilities on all four station platforms, and to encourage users to send comments to Southern. The draft plans were displayed at the event they held with us in the ticket hall in June. That was a very lively occasion when there were non stop conversations about the platform proposals and also about the work of Peckham Vision and the Peckham Society on the restoration of the historic parts of the station and how that fits with the vision for transforming that part of Peckham town centre.

Network Rail reveals more details of proposals to rebuild London Bridge Station.

The first images of the new station, designed by Grimshaw, were published last month but now some of the implications of the development are becoming known. The creation of a new ground-level concourse will have a major impact on the surrounding area, including the demolition of the South Eastern Railway building on Tooley Street  Read more in SE1 News ...

Future of London Bridge Station exhibition & public meeting

London Bridge station will be rebuilt between 2012 and 2019. This is a major redevelopment in our part of London which will have a big effect on the area around London Bridge affecting rail users, bus users, local Bermondsey residents and anyone travelling through or visiting that area. Next week there is a Network Rail exhibition at the station with rail people there to answer questions.

London Bridge Station redevelopment plans announced

Network Rail has revealed more details of its proposals to rebuild London Bridge Station by 2018.

When this work starts - at end 2012/beginning 2013 -  we will lose the South London Line (SLL) service between London Bridge and Victoria via Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill. This is because there will not be enough terminating platforms for the SLL to terminate there. Read more - click on heading.

The contract covers the construction of 1.3km of new railway between Surrey Quays station and Queens Road Peckham station, on Network Rail’s South London Line Railway. Southern Rail issues Peckham Rye station travel plan

Southern Rail have developed an action plan to improve some aspects of travelling to and from some of their stations. Peckham Rye is one of the stations, and the Travel Plan is attached. If you use Peckham Rye station and have any views on this, email SRUG. If anyone is keen to volunteer to monitor how well Southern keep to this plan, please let SRUG know.
